Access Statement
The hotel is situated in the centre of town, close to most major attractions.
Buses run passed the bottom of our street 75 yards away and the sea front and our world famous tram system is 5 mins walk away.
We have 5 free parking spaces at the front of the hotel and there are numerous car parks close by. Also disabled parking spaces are available in the next street.
There are three 9” steps outside the front of the hotel with hand rails both sides.
Our bar is on the lower ground floor and has no lift access
Although we are delighted to welcome all guests to the Alumhurst we are unable to offer accommodation to wheel-chair dependant guests due to the size of our lift and the fact that it was installed in the stairwell with differing floor levels and 3 or 4 steps up to each landing.
For guests with limited mobility there are hand rails to all stairs and help with luggage is available if required.
Some shower rooms have ‘grab rails’ fitted by the toilet. Please ask if you would like one of these rooms.
Outdoor wheelchairs can be stored safely on the ground floor and there is an available socket for charging electric ‘shoppers’.
We can arrange the hire of wheelchairs and we have some walking sticks, if required. Please ask for prices and other details.
For hearing and visually impaired guests we offer an induction loop at reception, floor space throughout the hotel is kept clear and uncluttered at all times and step edges are brightly marked where required.
A warm welcome is extended to the service dogs of our visual and hearing impaired guests.
We are very familiar with ‘Typetalk’ and our website, with a secure page, is simplicity itself to use for booking.
Large print menus, with pictures, are available on request.
Diabetic, Coeliac, Low Fat and other diets catered for.
For guests with asthma and other related allergies we have non-smoking rooms and hypo-allergenic pillows and bedding available. Please request when booking.
If there is anything else we can do to make your visit easier or more enjoyable do not hesitate to ask.
